Layla, a chatbot developed by IMPESA, 100% Costa Rican FinTech, shone this week at the important International Card Forum Congress held in Miami, which brought together the most important banks in the United States, to discuss the latest trends in the world.
CAFSA LAUNCHES CREDIT CARD THAT REDUCES THE RISK OF FRAUD WITH THE MONIBYTE PLATFORM
Clients of Financial group CAFSA, will be able to considerably reduce the risk of fraud when using the new Purdy Card credit cards of the Toyota and Lexus brands. CHATBOT LAYLA WILL ALLOW TO PERFORM ANY FINANCIAL PROCESSING IN SECONDS
Layla has the capacity to attend unlimited interactions per minute due to its scalable architecture developed on the Google platform. This System incorporates artificial intelligence technologies to interpret the natural language of human beings and determine precisely which process the user wishes to perform. Layla is a personalized artificial intelligence (AI) service that allows users to interact with it through different chat channels, such as Facebook Messenger, Skype, Telegram, or a web page, among others. It can be used 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. ALLIANCE BETWEEN IMPESA AND EQUIFAX
The company Impesa, a 100% Costa Rican FinTech, and the transnational Equifax (EFX: NYSE), a global information solutions company, leading provider of ideas and knowledge that contribute to better decision-making, signed an alliance that will revolutionize services customer service through intelligent robots (virtual assistants) such as Layla, a system of this type that has been developed by Impesa.
Thanks to this agreement with Equifax, Impesa will develop a chatbot that will offer users an innovative and completely secure experience when they perform any type of consultation or financial procedure through the virtual assistant. This will be possible thanks to the integration with Equifax solutions, such as the identity validator, credit inference engines and credit bureau services.
“By combining our virtual agent with Equifax solutions, such as the Identity Validator (ID Validator®) and the decision engine (Expert®), the chatbot will immediately corroborate the information provided by the person. Thanks to the databases that Equifax offers, the credit applicant’s identity is validated, a credit analysis is carried out, and credit is approved in a few minutes. Thus, the loan applicant, for example, should only go to the bank to sign their operation and present the requirements indicated by the bank or entity so that it is completely formalized, which saves a lot of time in paperwork and paperwork.” Hernandez explained.
AGREGA PARTNERS INVESTS IN IMPESA
January 8, 2018. IMPESA, 100% Costa Rican FinTech company dedicated to developing electronic payment solutions, receives Agrega Partners, co-manager of the Financial Services platform of the Dominican firm INICIA as a new partner.
With this investment, Agrega Partners will become a direct partner of IMPESA and will have an initial shareholding of 15% and representation on its board of directors. This investment will allow IMPESA to access a network of contacts that will facilitate its growth process and to Agrega to diversify its investment portfolio.
Both entities have been in a process of evaluation and due diligence, in which they were able to know the details of the operation of IMPESA, and identify their potential to invest.

MASTERCARD INNOVATION FORUM
We had the opportunity to experience, how some people are managing to break the mold in innovation and technology, navigating successfully through digital changes during the MasterCard Innovation Forum held on November 28 and 29.
In addition, our CTO Johnny Robles exchanged experiences with colleagues of the industry on trends and tested various technological devices.

The Latin American Federation of Banks is a non-profit institution, established in 1965 in the city of Mar del Plata, Argentina. It is present in 19 countries, more than 623 banks and financial entities in Latin America.
Impesa participated from 11th to 14th of November at the Annual Meeting of Felaban held in the city of Miami, where he had the opportunity to meet with representatives of various banks around the world, establish relationships and show the products we offer to our customers.
FINTECH CENTRAL AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN ASSOCIATION
Since October 2017, IMPESA is part of the Fintech Central America and the Caribbean Association. IMPESA DEVELOPS LOOPBACK CONNECTOR FOR GOOGLE DATASTORE CONNECTOR
- Open source community has a loopback connector available to perform operations on the Google Cloud Datastore database.
- Any developer can use and download the connector developed by IMPESA.
How does it work?
The loopback connector allows querying and maintaining entities and can create relationships between them that support Key references, which optimize the search for records.
It also supports: select (GET), insert (POST), update (PUT), delete (DELETE), merge (PATCH) and has also been tested on Google App Engine. Currently, in IMPESA is used we actively use it in the development of our projects in the cloud platform of Google. LATIN AMERICAN CONGRESS ON DIGITAL BANKING
On July 13th, our CEO Mario Hernández participated as a speaker at the first Latin American Congress on Digital Banking, Innovation, and Technology that was held in Costa Rica. International exhibitors from renowned companies attended the conference.
